Your information
TapRoute privacy notice
How Walkerbiz Ltd handles information when you use the TapRoute Android app.
Who is responsible
TapRoute is provided by Walkerbiz Ltd. This notice covers the native Android app and its connected TapRoute services. External services and websites have their own notices for processing they control.
Privacy contact: team@taprouteapp.com. This mailbox is monitored by the TapRoute team.
Information used by the app
| Information | Why it is used |
|---|---|
| Account information | Your sign-in email, account identifier and access status identify your account and control access to authorised workspaces. Authentication is provided through Firebase. |
| Business visits and notes | Business information, selected stops, routes and prospect notes support the workspace features you use. Some drafts and recovery references remain on your device; connected records are held by the service. |
| Orders and invoices | Customer details entered for an order or invoice, amounts, payment status and provider references support fulfilment, receipts, recovery and sales history. Enter only customer information needed for your business activity. |
| Location | Foreground location can support your chosen map position, nearby-business searches and payment-service requirements. A confirmed nearby search sends its search centre to the service. The app does not request background-location permission. |
| Device and service information | Authentication, mapping and payment services process technical information to operate their services, prevent abuse and diagnose problems. This can include IP addresses, device/app metadata, identifiers, diagnostics and map interactions. |
Payments and NFC
Stripe services process supported payments. TapRoute uses payment status and related references to show orders and help recover interrupted operations. Do not send payment-card numbers, security codes or PINs to TapRoute support or enter them in notes. Card handling belongs in the secure payment flow.
The NFC card tools read and write compatible review-card destinations after your action. Writing a review card does not prove that a payment succeeded.
Services that receive information
TapRoute uses Google/Firebase for authentication and related cloud services, Google Maps services for maps and business search, and Stripe for payment-related services. Information needed for these functions is sent to the relevant service. These providers may process information outside the UK.
Following a link to another website, including the TapRoute community or a provider-hosted document, takes you to a service with its own practices. This app notice does not replace those notices.
Why information is processed
We use necessary information to provide the services you request, manage your account and fulfil transactions. We also use information to protect the service, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and meet applicable legal obligations. Any optional use that requires consent must be explained when it is offered.
Storage and retention
Account and workspace information is retained while needed to provide the service and handle outstanding obligations. When an account is deleted, we delete associated personal information that no longer needs to be retained for a lawful purpose. Limited transaction, accounting, security or dispute records may need to be retained separately for the relevant obligation.
Before completing a deletion request, we will explain which records must be retained, why, and the applicable retention period. Signing out, uninstalling the app or disabling an account does not by itself delete server records.
Your choices and requests
You can manage location and notification permissions in Android settings. Some features may be unavailable when required permissions are off. You can ask about your information, request a correction or ask for account deletion using the contact above.
Read how to request deletion of your TapRoute account and associated data. We may need to verify your identity before changing or releasing account information. Never send your password, sign-in code or card details.
You can raise concerns with us and with the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
Security and changes
TapRoute uses encrypted service connections and account access controls. The Android app disables standard cloud and device-transfer backup of its app data. These measures do not mean that no information is stored on your device or by service providers.
When this notice changes, its effective date will be updated. Material changes should be brought to your attention where required.
